Mostly Lisa & Pete Cashmore, Mashable.

Last week, StartupSchwag went to Las Vegas to check out all the cool Startups at Blog World Expo 2008. The expo floor was packed with flashy booths and bloggers, vloggers, podcasters and geeky internet folk.

MostlyLisa caught up with StartupSchwag Alums, Mashable, Lijit, and Disqus at the plethora of glitzy Blog World parties. In case you missed the festivities, here’s a video recap… Mostly Lisa stylez.

All in all it was an extravaganza of new media & techy goodness (not to be confused with Trekky goodness, which was happening just next door at the Hilton’s “Star Trek: The Experience.” Actually, I had an angry PC vs Mac debate with a Borg dude that ended up quite violently. You know those eye pieces are actually metal? Yep. My iPod will never look same again.

Stay tuned in because we are working with some great new Startups to get you the most rockin’ schwag tees around!

And remember, you can still get your hot little hands on previous Startup Schwag tees, like the famous Mashable potato tee that everyone always asks me about. No need to ask! Just head to the online store.

Great news – what’s in ze bag this month is a request from last month. We’re putting the finishing touches on the coming update. I’m reeeeally excited. Everything just slows down a little in the summer.

Something or someone was wrong on the internets. She’s been found, alive. She’s safe. I’ll let her tell you more of the details.

We shipped Wednesday – our biggest month yet and I’m really excited about next month because finally, at long last, we’ll be ready to launch something long overdue with a few of the … and there I almost let the cat out of the bag. Soon, July 1stish, maybe the following week, but soon.

We have some shirts in mind for the next few months but nothing is 100% – any suggestions? I think twitter is out, unless someone knows them well or we leverage the fail whale, which turned up on iStockPhoto (along with a number of other tshirt sites). We want legit and clever, I was scolded the last time I suggested we jokingly dupe the “wearing my twitter shirt” design – what do you love? FriendFeed? Plurk? Telstar Logistics? kthx.

If their friend doesn’t have the answer they need, someone in that friend’s social network may. Eventually, they get an answer they trust, because it came from a source they trust. Your readers can now have that same experience on the web and it all starts with the source they trust. That source: the blog publisher.

Yes, it’s May. If this looks familiar it’s because subscribers should already have everything here!

Pownce is a way to send stuff to your friends. What kind of stuff? You can send just about anything: music, photos, messages, links, events, and more. You can do it all on their web site, or install their lightweight desktop software that lets you get out of the browser.

Answers.com is your free “one-stop shop” with instant information on over 4 million topics. They deliver useful answers in a snap. Look up any word or phrase for the best definition or explanation on the Web. Not lists of links… just the information you’re looking for.

BBGeeks.com helps users make sense of all things Blackberry. In addition to covering industry related news, publishing how to guides, interviews and articles, BBGeeks.com also provides information on Blackberry cell phone services and plans.

CenterNetworks was relaunched in September 2006 to focus on the “new” Internet. The mission is to help industry professionals learn more about topics including: social networking, Web 2.0, and social media. In addition, one of the main goals with CenterNetworks is to help you create better web apps.

Entrecard is your business card 2.0. It’s a 125×125 image which represents you and your blog. Its part advertisement, part business card. It comes with a widget you place on your blog, so that others can leave their Entrecard for you.

SnapFoo is a photo blog or moblog. Easily send images from your cell phone or email and they post to your profile automatically! Friends and family can see what you’re doing while you do it and all you need is a cell phone capable of sending images via text messages and a camera phone!

And there’s a little something extra for a random group of subscribers… We shipped out 20 ipod shuffles to a mostly random selection of subscribers who’ve been with SS since the beginning and had been blogging/tweeting about SS. We’re going to keep that party going as new and interesting random schwag comes in. More surprises next month.

Speaking of which, we’re shipping a little later this month (still around the 15th). We’d planned to ship DataPortability this month (the logo design winner announced on TechCrunch). It was amazing to see how quickly stickers with that logo became available at Web2.0Expo. Turnaround was same day. And then the new logo, created b/c the last one infringed, also infringed. So we have a surprise shirt this month =)

Somebody wants Disqus shirts. Look at this:

As Disco Stu says, “if this trend continues… heeeyyy.” They may just be the first shirt that we first saw as a sticker. In November’s bag. Just before they got all that traffic. Coincidence?

We’ve had some requests for twitter shirts. Those look like this:

I think they’re brilliant shirts. I wish the twitter guys would let us print some shirts for them. If you know someone there maybe you could introduce me.

Come say “Hi” at Web2.0Expo. I’m in SF most of next week for the festivities.
